After a hiatus due to the pandemic, we are back! Due to the pandemic, we were unable to hold our two used book sales during the year but many used books are still piled up waiting for their new homes (though Wagnalls has had to stop taking used book donations). We have tried to come up with some unique ways to decrease the surplus. One such way is that we will be sponsoring a Little Free Library in the Village of Lithopolis. The photo above shows the almost finished product that was lovingly designed and constructed by the volunteers of Girl Scout Troop 6079. We very much appreciate their willingness to take on the project for us and we are so excited to get it up and running. It will be located in the front yard of The Gilmore Group HER Realtors on Columbus Street. We also appreciate The Gilmore Group and the owners of the property, Eileen Benson & Kathy Moling, for their permission to place it. If you are unfamiliar with Little Free Libraries, it is a free community book exchange that can be found around the world! The idea is simple - take a book, leave a book. If you don’t have a book at that moment, you can bring one to leave later.
We are also hoping to hold an Covid-safe outdoor used book sale this spring.
