The Wagnalls-Jones family appreciated visual arts and included in the Wagnalls Memorial a room in the Tower dedicated to the art of artist, John Ward Dunsmore. In keeping with that appreciation and the desire to for people of Lithopolis and Bloom Township to have opportunities to experience art, the Wagnalls Memorial Foundation has designed a gallery on the second floor above the library, fondly known as the Loft.
During the month of November, we are featuring artist Carolyn Sittler. Carolyn spent many years rug hooking, fusing glass and painting with watercolors. She was experimenting with oils and pastels until she started felting. She just loves the textured affect and how the color of the wool fibers blend. To Carolyn, felting is like combining what she loves about rug hooking and painting with watercolors.
